Beginner Proofreader/Translator – the PAP/BTT team

(Japanese to English, Japanese to Chinese (simplified and traditional), Japanese to Korean and others*)

We are looking for English, Chinese (simplified and traditional) and Korean native speakers* with an advanced level of Japanese proficiency for our PAP/BTT team of beginner translators. Exchange students welcome!
This is an excellent opportunity for first steps in the translation industry, gaining linguistic expertise as well as the valuable experience of working in a Japanese corporate environment!
(*We are also ready to receive applications of native speakers of other languages, cannot however guarantee immediate projects.)

PAP (project-based assistant partner) and BTT (beginner translators’ team) are project-based positions. Upon successful application (including a job interview for PAP, and a trial translation for BTT staff) we would contact you as soon as appropriate projects come up. PAP is an on-site position so you would work in our Tokyo or Osaka office. BTT is equivalent to a freelance translator’s position, meaning you would work at home, at a time convenient to you. You are welcome to apply to both positions simultaneously, or one of your choosing.

Projects include simple translations, proofreading, native check, assisting translation coordinators with various tasks and more (depending on project)

Employment type: Part time

Wage:	On-site (PAP):	1000yen/hour to start
	Off-site (BTT):	Translation 2yen/Japanese character
		Proofreading 0.2-0.6yen/Japanese character

Japanese ability: Advanced level (if possible JLPT1)

Location (on-site): Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Kita-ku, Osaka
